Aim and description of the project.

Support of a village junior high school to offer the children in that village the chance to continue their education after primary school. As the village gets isolated during three to four months a year it is almost impossible for young children to reach another junior highschool located far outside their village.

Planning of the project.

An Indian junior high school consists of three classes; class 6,7 and 8. The Headmaster will be provided by Ramana's seva samiti. This
person will have to live in the village. Also books, bags and other classmaterials will be provided. There are two other teacher's assistants involved who are being provided by a foreign organisation that has its headquarters in the village.

Project approach and organisation.

The cost of the project would be 1250.- U.$ per year. This would include the salary of the headmaster, his stay during weekdays in the village, books, bags and other lessonmaterials for all the children. The total sum of the cost of the materials for the children obviously depends on the amount of children present in the school. Per child there would be a cost of 42 U.$ per year. At present there are 30 children in the school.

Project targets. Who will control the project targets and the financial targets? How will you going to report about the project?

The main target of the project is to provide free quality education at the junior high school level for all the children in the village. The children will be subject to the normal government board examinations and rules concerning passing and failure of a class at the end of a school year. Without a minimum of 8th standard education it is almost impossible for a village youth to enter the job market or seek any form of higher education or vocational training. The future potential of these youth depends on this level of education.
The financial targets will be controlled by the project manager.

Costs of the project. The financing of the project. The necessary subsidy.
